Ashlea is a talented singer/songwriter with a distinctive voice. Complimented by her petite frame and model like looks - she is the complete package. Ashlea's voice and presence is unique - She can draw you in intimately with her effortless, velvety voice singing even the simplest of melodies and lyrics with a youthful modern makeover.

Ashlea grew up listening to Gloria Estefan - her mum's idol (even appearing as Gloria live on national TV aged 13) “Gloria has played a huge part in influencing my vocal style, even I can hear the comparison. Her vocals and lyrics always really touch me she inspires me both as a singer and as a songwriter”

 

Ashlea also names Soul/Blues legends Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder through to current artists Beyonce, Rihanna, Alicia Keys as huge inspirations. These artists alongside her own idol Christina Aguilera and childhood hero Michael Jackson all played a big part in the evolution of Ashlea's career.

 

“I’ve spent recent years experimenting in my styles, in order to really find myself as an artist-I sometimes found myself trying to be ‘ultra quirky’ to appeal more widely to the current music scene when I realised that the “quirkiness” was always there, just by being me!”

Determined to follow her 'dream career' (she keeps it personal with a tattoo on her body to reflect this as she follows her path!)

 

“I feel really lucky to have already worked with some great people in the industry who believe in me and appreciate my talent. I want to keep writing, recording and performing live –doing what I love my way, with my own sound!!”

Ashlea Pearson & Band perfrom at 'Charity Gig' in her hometown of Newcastle - Coming up on the 4th March (venue TBC). Ticket info will be available soonOften compared to Karen Carpenter with her warm contralto tones, then to Christina Aquilera belting out her big ballads my styles range from Pop/R&B, Soul and blues through to acoustic Indie.  A local music journalist quoted "The cliche about Ashlea would be that she's a small young woman with a big voice but her vocal style is far more subtle than that. Breathing new life into the old pop standards combining soul and blues influences to great effect.
